  • Purpose 

    The purpose of the project is to enhance  capacity & professional expertise in the field of peace education in the East African region  
     
    Objectives :
     

 

Academic members of  staff from  University of Nairobi and Makerere University will be   participating in this years’   summer school on  post graduate certificate in conflict resolution skills  at Coventry University 

 

The PEHS secretariat  in collaboration with the University of Nairobi  is planning to  launch an MA in peace education for the  University of Nairobi that  has been developed through the this project. 

This event will take place on Wednesday , 2011, 29th June at the University of Nairobi Main Campus . 

 

The PEHS  partnership is organizing a workshop on non violent action  in peace building .  The workshop will take place on the 29th of June at Silver Springs Hotel, Nairobi .

The aim of the workshop is to explore the significance of nonviolent action as it relates to social change in the East Africa region, with a particular focus on Kenya and Uganda.

ACFRN is planning to hold a research workshop on the IDRC-funded project on Chinese Ascendancy in the Global Clothing Industry. The workshop will take place in Mombasa, Kenya, on 30th June and 1st July 2011. The main theme for the workshop is the presentation of country reports of preliminary survey results. This survey covers garment manufacturing firms in the seven countries under study.
