University of Nairobi and RMIT University Sign a Collaboration Agreement
In its efforts to increase its strategic partnerships globally, the University of Nairobi, through the Faculty of Business and Management Science, has officially signed a collaboration agreement with RMIT University. The collaboration agreement was signed on Wednesday, 21st May 2025, when Prof. Colin Picker, Deputy Vice Chancellor, College of Business and Law, and Vice President, paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Jesang Hutchinson.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Hutchinson affirmed the partners of the roadmap that the University is on, including the Big 5 Initiatives, increased effort on Research and Innovation, and optimizing the global alliances that the UoN is a member of.
The UoN VC also mentioned that the University is on course to achieve a digitally-enabled University that produces the next cadre of cutting-edge graduates that will impact the globe.
The Collaboration agreement will foster joint research projects, capacity building by sharing experiences, Industry linkages, and promotion of international exchanges.
Prof. Colin noted that the implementation of the ideas for collaboration has been set three weeks from signing and pledged to increase the industry connections that the students from the two institutions can work on, share of educational technology space, and growth in the existing partnerships.
H.E. Chris Ellinger, Deputy Commissioner, Australian High Commissioner, expressed gratitude on the milestones that Kenya and Australia have made over the past 60 years. He mentioned that there are a lot of Kenyan students pursuing education in higher institutions of learning in Australia and he appreciated the addition and growth of partnership.
Present during the signing of the agreement was the Chair of the Department, Dr. Thomas Ombati, Dr. Stephen Odock, and other Faculty of Business and Management Sciences Faculty Members.
